But the 8.3 version of the 8.0 version of NAVTEQ and TeleAtlas map POI contained in the merits of funding, will be able to see at a glance, since POI file is too small.

NAVTEQ map funding, in addition to the states POI, a AAA series of POI. Advantage is that it seems more than a number of attractions are the pros and cons are often two or three places in search of a pen to repeat. NAVTEQ map attached to the funding of POI have been less if the filter out these repeated, and I am afraid 12,000,000 than the sum of TeleAtlas POI, can only be described as pale into insignificance.

I good to be true, since the iGo 8 Design Map with POI is separate from the file, perhaps 8.0 to 2008.01 series financed POI map used to meet the 8.3 series, the use of NAVTEQ map. But with the outcome, iGo 8.3 can not read these POI.

But strange is that 2007.10 (20080311) on the contrary to the POI with the iGo 8.3 compatible. Since the most noteworthy feature is its price let’s start from that, it currently retails at $364.99 from TigerDirect. As we mentioned it features a 7″ Wide LCD TFT screen and some of its other features include, 512 MB of internal NAND Flash memory, turn-by-turn voice guidance available in multiple languages, automatic re-routing, 2D and 3D maps, audio player (MP3, WMA and WAV), photo viewer and an A/V input port that allows users to use the screen as a in-car display to watch you DVDs or play your favorite games. Finally, the Maxtek MNT-7T comes with a DVD that contains US maps. For the price it looks like a really good deal, however I wasn’t able to find any reviews of the unit.

GPS attention to the field work

GPS field work processes and Notes
network planning and time:
GPS-network planning and control related to the distribution point for the entire network of point-of-error to even the best networks can be shaped in accordance with the control points of distribution planning:

(1) control plane point of distribution:
Network-test: the best there is at least three known control point in the surveyed area outside the four quadrants, if known at 30 cents (control point) is located outside the test area, then test the outer edge of the area and are known to the point of The best distance of not more than 20km.
Linear measurement: the best there is at least three known control point in the test area and the two ends of the central, and the best there is around 30km at a known point of control.

(2) elevation control of distribution points:
Measuring network: In general, in every 10km × 10km range of domestic demand has 4 points, known as the level of control, and distributed around the test zone. You probably are now constantly worried if she or he leads without risk. And you wonder where they also disappear. There is a small piece of modern technology that can help parents who have expressed concern about the place of residence of their children - this is called the system track GPS.

With the GPS path you can reasonably know exactly where your son 's or daughter' s car is at any given time.

GPS tracking system benefits for you:
- Knowing the location of your children
- Monitoring your kids driving skills and habits
- Easy to find a car if it has been stolen
- Safety of your teenage kids

GPS tracking system is important for your kid's safety
We all know that young drivers are often at risk. They are less experienced and more arrogant than those who have been driving for many years. Teenagers are more likely to take unnecessary risks and drive at high speed. But luckily for you, you can monitor their speed too. GPS tracking systems offer speed monitoring. So you will always know if your kids don't obey the road rules.

Also if their car breaks down or there is an accident, GPS system will tell you straight away. Even if your child has no idea where he or she is, GPS tracking will give you an accurate location. You receive the data from the tracking system to your home computer or even mobile phone in real time.

Knowing where your kids are
And of course, the main function of GPS tracking system is to tell you the exact location of your child's car. So if, for example, you don't want them to drive certain busy and dangerous roads or go to certain places, you will know if they go there or not. This way he or she can't say that they go to the city library to study, but go to a party instead.

GPS tracking installation
Most systems are small and easy to install. They are only about a size of your TV remote control and are usually powered by batteries that need to be changed about once a month. The technology itself is free and is controlled by US government, so there will be no monthly fees. You only pay for the hardware and the software once. Tracking devices are not cheap - a good one will cost you 400-500 dollars. However, when you think that you are really investing in the safety of your family, it is a small price to pay.

Should you tell your kids that there is a tracking device in their car or not? Tracking other people cars without the knowledge of the owner is illegal, but that doesn't apply to parents tracking their kids. So it is really up to you. However, it might be a good idea to tell your teens that you are installing a tracking device for their safety. If you install it secretly and than your son or daughter finds out that he or she has been tracked, they will never believe it is for their own good.

Optimizing GPS Tracking

Global Positioning Systems (GPS) was developed initially by American army to help with the navy and terrestrial Navigation. GPS uses a constellation of satellites to transmit to time the signatures encodées on the receivers on the surface. While following the time between the moment of code the signal says was sent and when it arrived in fact, the GPS uses the theory Einstein of relativity and four signals (three if altitude is known) to provide a precise follow-up to approximately two meters. Technology GPS was to pass in the commercial field of army since the years 1990.

GPS floats of the systems of follow-up are used in public transport, in particular the school buses in Kansas City and New York. These systems allow school districts to know exactly where each bus is, by thus improving safety of their passengers. Inflection on the roads, the GPS gives a certain room for maneuver drivers to adapt their courses to avoid the traffic congestion. The second advantage is that it allows the school districts in question in order to better evaluate times inactivity, improvement of the algorithms of routing and energy efficiency. school and the parents have a peace spirit by knowing that the school buses are constantly monitored.

In April 2007, a company of private taxi launched a fleet of 150-GPS allowed meter of the taxis (taxis or of Meru) Mumbai, in India. The customers will be able to ask a taxi to go to seek instead of predilection and reserve for advances on the telephone or Internet. If an accidentally left customer any personal question in a taxi, this technology GPS allows to follow to the specificity of taxi quickly and easily. Meru, all the expenses of taxi are retransmises towards the control center and a follow-up in order to to ensure that the customers are invoicees consequently. The company envisages to increase the fleet of taxis at 1000 end of year.

In the commercial sector, the GPS is used to follow the trucks of delivery and the trucks used by the contractors in the course of building sites. That allows the monitoring in real-time of what the trucks are on the way and the best followed real mileage used (in opposition to what is invoiced). That allows also to increase the vast fleet saving in fuel, and makes it possible to the employers to check the effective number hours of control by the drivers in one day for mileage and the premiums " time dur" of remuneration. H.A. Sun Heating and air-conditioning Inc Bloomfield, in Michigan is a example; a company which installed the GPS system of follow-up of fleet in all of its truck. The company is in measurement; to reach information in real-time which involves savings in personnel costs (people claiming qu' they were on a passage for 8 a.m., when the GPS showed that only they had led during seven and half), reduced the fuel costs and increase in productivity and truck effectiveness of routing. For this company, the GPS is paid in the 30 days.

GPS system of follow-up of fleet was proven to increase effectiveness and the productivity in all the types; companies clean fleet of vehicles. In addition to the costs and time-savers, the satisfaction of the customers is appreciably improved by a better reactivity.

Lenovo GPS phone

gps phone gps phone gps phone gps phone gps phone
Who knew Lenovo did GPS phones? GPS uses a constellation of satellites to beam down encoded time signatures to receivers on the surface. By tracking the delay between when the time code says the signal was sent and when it actually arrived, GPS uses Einstein's theory of relativity and four signals (three if altitude is known) to provide accurate tracking down to about two meters. GPS technology has been moving into the commercial sphere from the military since the 1990s.

GPS fleet tracking systems are used in public transportation, most notably school buses in Kansas City and New York City. These systems allow school districts to know exactly where each bus is, thus improving the safety of their passengers. On flex routes, GPS gives drivers some leeway in adjusting their course to avoid traffic congestion. The secondary benefit is that it allows the school districts in question to better assess idle times, better routing algorithms and fuel efficiency. School officials and parents have a peace of mind knowing that the school buses are monitored constantly.

In April 2007, a private taxi company launched a fleet of 150 GPS-enabled metered taxis (or Meru taxis) in Mumbai, India. Customers will be able to call for a taxi at to pick up at a preferred location and book in advance on the phone or internet. If a customer accidentally left any personal item in a taxi, this GPS technology can track to the specific taxi quickly and easily. All collected Meru taxi fares are transmitted back to the control centre and monitored to ensure that customers are charged appropriately. The company plans to increase the fleet to 1,000 taxis by year end.

In the commercial sector, GPS is used for tracking delivery trucks and trucks used by contractors going to job sites. This allows real time monitoring of what trucks are en route and better tracking of actual mileage used (versus what's billed for). This also increases fleet wide fuel economy, and allows employers to check the actual hours driven by drivers in a day for mileage bonuses and "drive time" pay. H.A. Sun Heating and Cooling Inc. of Bloomfield, Mich. is an example of a company that installed GPS fleet tracking system in every of its truck. The company is able to access real time information that leads to savings in manpower costs (from people claiming they were on a shift for 8 hours, when the GPS showed that they'd only driven for seven and a half), reduced fuel costs and increased productivity and efficient truck routing. For this company, the GPS paid for itself in 30 days.

GPS fleet tracking system has been proven to increase efficiency and productivity in all types of businesses that own fleet of vehicles. In addition to cost and time savings, customer satisfaction is significantly improved through better responsiveness.

Autor: Alvin Toh

Source: http://ezinearticles.com/

GPS is divided into two categories

GPS is divided into two categories:

The first type is A-GPS: A-GPS-assisted GPS positioning called, is mainly based on the existing cellular network to provide GPS correction parameters, assisted GPS positioning, making more accurate positioning, or even in some can not receive satellite signals in the local , Such as basements, caves inside achieve targeting. However, operators need to charge high prices wild.

The second category is generally the GPS, the Global Positioning System (Global Positioning System). Simply put, this is a global coverage of the 24 satellites of the satellite system. The system can guarantee that at any moment, any point on Earth can be observed at the same time four satellites, to ensure that the satellites can be collected to the observation points of latitude and longitude and height, in order to achieve navigation, positioning and timing capabilities. This technology can be used to guide aircraft, vessels, vehicles and personal, security and accurately along the selected line, reach their destinations on time. In May 11, 1939 the German aerospace scientist Karl Hans Janke announced in Berlin a patent for a "Position indicator concerning to aircrafts“ which had been issued on November 11, 1943.In the patent, he assumed two distant bodies (satellites) which are permanently sending electromagnetic signals. Those signals can be received and be shown on a screen as a vector. By laying a map on that screen it would be even possible to determine origin and direction of an object.

The design of GPS is based partly on similar ground-based radio navigation systems, such as LORAN and the Decca Navigator developed in the early 1940s, and used during World War II. Additional inspiration for the GPS came when the Soviet Union launched the first Sputnik in 1957. A team of U.S. scientists led by Dr. Richard B. Kershner were monitoring Sputnik's radio transmissions. They discovered that, because of the Doppler effect, the frequency of the signal being transmitted by Sputnik was higher as the satellite approached, and lower as it continued away from them. They realized that since they knew their exact location on the globe, they could pinpoint where the satellite was along its orbit by measuring the Doppler distortion.

The first satellite navigation system, Transit, used by the United States Navy, was first successfully tested in 1960. Using a constellation of five satellites, it could provide a navigational fix approximately once per hour. In 1967, the U.S. Navy developed the Timation satellite which proved the ability to place accurate clocks in space, a technology the GPS relies upon. In the 1970s, the ground-based Omega Navigation System, based on signal phase comparison, became the first world-wide radio navigation system.

The first experimental Block-I GPS satellite was launched in February 1978.[4] The GPS satellites were initially manufactured by Rockwell International (now part of Boeing) and are now manufactured by Lockheed Martin (IIR/IIR-M) and Boeing (IIF).
